Our History
The old farmhouse, now completely renovated, was once used as a barn, farmstead, stable, chicken coop, warehouse and tool shed. All around, on the family land, agricultural activities
were handed down for generations: chestnuts were produced (the typical and highly prized variety of Segnano chestnut, honored by the name of the farm itself) and olives, from which
a genuine and very fragrant oil was extracted. Cows, horses, goats, pigs, rabbits, sheep and chickens dotted the landscape with their unmistakable silhouettes. The orchard was a lush succession
of unique flavors and aromas. Figs, pears, apples, lotuses, cherries, pomegranates, peaches, hazelnuts, walnuts, plums, sour cherries, black cherries, jujubes, strawberry trees, currants, blueberries, gooseberries, raspberries: nothing was missing
in this enchanted strip of land. And today, nothing has changed. We still proudly carry on the same activities, combining tradition with the most modern agricultural techniques, to guarantee true and uncompromising quality, so much so that we can boast the title of certified organic farm.
Educational Farm
Immersed in the green countryside, surrounded by the colors and sounds of nature and the call of some animals, the educational farm of Casale del Marrone, authorized to carry out the Educational Farm activity authorized by the Lazio Region with registration number 217330, is happy to welcome you to help you discover how beautiful it is to spend a day immersed in nature.
Where Come and visit us
The Casale del Marrone farmhouse is located in Segni, an ancient and splendid town of Roman origin, in a clearing nestled between heaven and earth at 700 meters above sea level. To the west, behind the verdant peaks of the Lepini Mountains, the Tyrrhenian Sea colors the horizon blue. On sunny days, from the nearby Rocca Massima, it almost seems you can touch it by stretching out your hand. To the north, beyond the noble profile of the ancient village of Artena, the Castelli Romani, sung over the centuries by poets and stornellatori, lie peacefully at the foot of the eternal grandeur of Rome, only half an hour away from Segni by car. The Fashion District outlet and the Rainbow Magicland amusement park, both in Valmontone, are ten kilometers from the farmhouse. And all around, like a precious necklace, Casale del Marrone is surrounded by ancient and wonderful pearls such as Anagni, Ferentino, Carpineto Romano, Sermoneta, Paliano, Fiuggi, Alatri, Fumone and countless others.
